This is the fourth round of the 2018 APOY comp, the main reason for getting into the whole competition thing. Obviously, every entry must include GT and that can be a bit of a stretch. Just before the opening date, I hit upon the notion of using a mounted butterfly: they are remarkably easy to come by on eBay - I asked the seller to send me one green one and one red and he ignored me completely. So it goes.
The title toys with the French translation of still life (nature morte) and the fact that the poor thing, usuallly photographed alive, for macro shots, is dead. For this round, entries close on 22nd June.
The entries for the previous three rounds are shown below.
The first ever competition entry came 591st out of 638.
The pond is in the threatened Avery Hill Winter Gardens, Eltham. The entry, not surprisingly, came 860th out of 862. Not being last was good.
At the time of writing (2tth May), there are still 11 days of voting to go and the entry stands 568th out of 827.
